This role is varied and wide-raging and involves a significant amount of senior stakeholder interaction and management. The role is accountable for the go to market plans for Wholesale, designing and leading the implementation of various commercial interventions, and playing a key role in developing the Medium Term Plan (MTP) alongside a wider cross-functional team. A strong understanding of the key enablers and dependencies of the commercial plan is required, as well as an ability to work in virtual teams to move initiatives and launches forward to fruition. In addition, the role holder will make key contributions to the Wholesale strategy including assisting with strategic asks from the Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) and will perform commercial deep dives for monthly operational reviews with ELT and for Quarterly Budget Reviews

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform market analysis to guide the design and development of commercial interventions and leads the creation of tactical interventions such as gap closure plans in order to enable Wholesale to reach MTP.
  • Provides support to the transformation tribe working on the Wholesale Digital Marketplace and Partner Programme to enable successful delivery of those initiatives.
  • Provides regular updates / recommendations to Wholesale MD and other senior stakeholders in relation to various initiatives and ensures that the commercial impact of all recommendations are understood.
  • Ensures that all planning activity has a strong interlock with trading activity to ensure opportunities are acted upon and financial gaps are closed in a timely fashion.
  • Leads the preparation of Operational Review and Quarterly Budget Review commercial deep dives, ensuring that recommendations are grounded in commercial analysis and aligned to the Wholesale strategy.
  • Prepare responses to various strategic asks from the Enterprise leadership team based on market knowledge and customer analysis e.g. responses to competitor strategies, Mergers & Acquisitions opportunities, competitor results.
  • Within commercial leads the creation of the medium term plan (MTP) including detailed reviews volumes by customer, contract and product and develops the story for Wholesale prior to CEO and CFO review.
  • Owns the go to market process for Wholesale working with propositions and marketing to ensure that the process is followed through from annual investment planning and prioritisation to launch on time.
