Job Description:

The Director of Operations for Resorts works toward developing multiple property leaders within the Resorts Division, ensures the smooth operation of our hotel and laundry facilities, and works to achieve goals defined by Cedar Fair.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the practice of corporate and divisional policies and procedures are in effect at all times.
  • Responsible for directing the General Manager of the 156-room cabin/cottage and 146-site campground at Lighthouse Point.
  • Creates action plans for Property Managers to improve/uphold all operating systems.
  • Ensures a positive culture within each area under the Director of Operations responsibility.
  • Ensure the efficient and productive operation of all facilities within established responsibility.
  • Ensures a presence within all operations to ensure standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance are being upheld.
  • Maintains effective communication with all management and staff members.
  • Responsible for directing the General Manager of the 669-room Hotel Breakers.
  • Provides timely, real-time feedback to the Property Managers at Hotel Breakers and Lighthouse Point.
  • Ensure training and development is being administered in all operations within established responsibility.
  • Achieves all financial and budgetary goals for all locations.
  • Responsible for directing the Laundry Manager at the main laundry plant.
  • Directs the laundering of hotel, food and beverage, and in-park location linens, terry, and costumes.
  • Measures productivity of laundry operation based on key performance metrics as well as operational metrics to ensure a productive and efficient operation.
  • Ensures a positive culture within each area under the Director of Operations responsibility.
  • Ensures a presence within all operations to ensure standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance are being upheld.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in Hospitality with specific concentrations in Housekeeping management, Front Desk management, and Hotel management.
  • Hotel General Management experience.
  • Some Food and Beverage experience desired but not required.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a management team.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
