Job Description:

Under limited supervision, plans, schedules, and manages the mechanical maintenance of rides and automobiles. Supports and manages mechanical components of capital improvements and new ride installations. Coordinates projects with other park departments and the corporate office as required. Supervises and reviews the work of subordinate, managerial, and support staff. Performs related administrative, supervisory, and technical duties as required. Oversees the procurement, receipt, maintenance and issuance of maintenance supplies for department use, ensuring compliance with Park/corporate policies and procedures. Ensures vendors are paid in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and participates in the procurement, receipt, maintenance and issuance of maintenance supplies for department use, ensuring compliance with Park/corporate policies and procedures.
  • Maintains inventory control and computer system operations. Conducts cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Supervises seasonal associates; supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards; coordinating activities; selecting new employees; and recommending employee discipline.
  • Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers training, advice and assistance as needed.
  • Researches and selects vendors based on competitive pricing, quality products and efficient service provided.
  • Tracks purchase orders; verifies discrepancies against general ledger. Records associate purchases to deposit sheets and send with cash to cash control personnel.
  • Prepares, reviews and/or processes billing statements, purchase orders, inventory records, adjustment reports, reconciliations, parts lists, shipping requests, invoices, safety reports, attendance sheets, work orders, expense reports,
    fuel tickets, requisitions, various logs, performance appraisals, various other reports, memos, correspondence, etc.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other park managers and employees, subordinates, co-workers, sales representatives, vendors, delivery persons, ride manufacturers,
    customers, etc.
  • Orders products and stock for other departments as requested. Manages small tools inventory; tracks and records repair costs.
  • Monitors fuel usage and deliveries; places fuel orders.
  • Plans, schedules, and manages the mechanical maintenance of rides and the mechanical maintenance of automobiles.
  • Prepares, receives, reviews and/or maintains various records and reports including budget documents, financial forecasts, general ledger, purchase orders, downtime reports, work requests, safety sheets, invoices, work/project schedules, personnel forms, ride modification forms, etc.
  • Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, other Park administrators and staff, subordinates, corporate personnel, guests, vendors, contractors, consultants, engineers, state inspectors, manufacturer representatives, building code officials, external service providers, regulatory agencies, concessionaires, etc.
  • Assists Marketing Division with media events; consults on ride issues; consults on camera mounts, and schedules photo shoots on rides.
  • Serves as Maintenance Duty Officer as scheduled.
  • Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • 6 ‑ 10 Years Related Experience mechanical maintenance management
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • 2 – 4 Years experience in inventory/warehouse management, procurement, or related field
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered for this position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (4 year College or University) Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field
  • Labor Relations experience preferred.
