Job Description:

Provide reliable technical assistance to internal and external customers. You will provide professional coverage of Technical Support Helpdesk. You will support focus on accuracy, timely feedback, and customer satisfaction. You will drive timely identification, investigation, resolution, root cause analysis and replication of technical issues. You will use your influence to expedite complicated cases. You will develop a broad understanding of customer needs. You will drive the knowledge-sharing mindset, methodology, and tools. You will develop Technical Support processes. You will ensure proper documenting and recording of all activity and communication. You will address systemic coordination issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical training
  • Build relationships with customers
  • Provide customer support by responding to ticketing system for user issues using a variety of hardware and software testing, repair tools and techniques
  • Facilitate issue identification and analysis
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Track requests resolution
  • Test products & software
  • Develop and share knowledge

Job Requirements:

  • College diploma, technical degree (Engineering/Information Technology) or related subject area or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years’ experience in Satellite systems integration/technical support/networking
  • Perl and Unix shell programming
  • VMWare ESXi / vSphere Hypervisor
  • Eligible for Secret Level Clearance
  • 20% Travel time within North America
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple contracts
  • Extensive customer-facing experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset, strong leadership impact
  • Bilingualism (French & English)
  • Excellent knowledge of global tracking products
  • MySQL database administration and excellent SQL skills
  • Apache web server
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in:
  • Unix (preferably FreeBSD / Red Hat Enterprise Linux) to Sys Admin level
  • Knowledge of the Ethernet IP network environment, TCP/IP protocols
  • Linux and Cisco certifications
