This is an exciting time to join the Operational Excellence team (OPEX). This role will formulate and drive the model-based enterprise, digitization, and automation strategy for Aerospace Engineering in alignment with Aerospace guidelines and Engineering Transformation strategic objective. You will shape and drive the digital thread and digital twin strategy for Aerospace Engineering. You will seek out and execute engineering digitization and automation projects that improve growth, engineering efficiency and customer experience. You will establish a Data Governance Management Operating System (MOS) that manages engineering data throughout its life cycle. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and influencers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with ISC Engineering on digitization and automation projects that span engineering and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC)
  • Support engineering leadership in acquiring data and metrics to support decision making
  • Coordinate activities with OpEx global partners
  • Report status to leadership in various forums including MORs, status reports, etc.
  • Identify and prioritize engineering digitization and automation projects that support the MBE and Digital Thread Strategy
  • In cooperation with Aero IT, Enterprise IT, and Engineering Tools COE, drive execution of digitization and automation projects
  • Support various OpEx leadership activities such as TRR, resource planning, goal planning, etc.
  • Develop and drive strategy for building model-based enterprise capability within Aero Engineering
  • Develop and drive strategy for Digital Thread that spans ideation through sunset

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to identify problems and significantly improve or change existing methods and techniques
  • Ability to influence internal and external parties to deliver advanced tools, methodologies, and product designs
  • Leadership and ability to influence organizational transformation
  • Ability to communicate and work with multiple organizations and various levels of leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience working in or supporting Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, or Business functions
  • Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean certification is desired
  • Advanced Engineering Degree
  • Effective coaching/mentoring skills
  • Competence to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
  • Process development and deployment experience
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to drive decisions and lead cross-functional projects across the engineering organization
  • Project or program management experience
  • Due to export control regulations, this position requires US citizenship status
