Job Description:

This is a key position in the Proposals and Estimation (P&E) Organization implemented to maximize customer facing time of front-line resources. This position supports the Pacific Sales organisation and will work closely with Bid Managers, Account Managers and Business Consultants within selected Districts. This role will be responsible for building up the solution and cost estimate for qualified opportunities. This role Is critical in calculating minimally compliant costs needed to meet published bid specifications or value engineered solutions. The position will also support the team regarding identifying and providing support documentation, including approvals for the booking of such proposals, thus providing increased customer facetime for the District sales force.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews and complies with specification requirements
  • Works on list of assumptions and deviations with the offered solution
  • Work on point take-off and build up the optimised solution for an opportunity
  • Responsible for providing accurate estimates and new applications of technology
  • Support the sales professional in their role as customer’s ambassador/advocate; maximise competitive wins
  • Analyse the sales estimates to the customer requirements and provide guidance on factors to be used for competitive estimating
  • Solicit RFP’s for all 3rd party material and subcontract content using Supply Chain RFP tools
  • Clarify all scope gaps using RFI process and summarize assumptions during internal Estimate Review w/ Op
  • Responsible for making competitive comparison and accurate estimates/costing
  • Engages in vendor negotiation with Sourcing to provide best estimates
  • Responsible for exploring new vendors for best optimised solution that meets the customer requirement
  • Support the Sales team by making the costing/estimate which will assist HBS in achieving maximum profitability and growth in line with its vision and strategic objectives
  • Support the Solution Advisors with required inputs to close the Engineering review and Technical Risk review
  • Responsible for preparing the estimate and proposal within assigned project opportunities
  • Assist the Sales team by ensuring on time delivery of estimates
  • Provide documentation support to sales as and when required for various Govt./Commercial bids
  • Develop cost effective estimates and identify explicit proposal inclusions to be prepared within required timelines
  • Seek new and creative solutions for addressing customer needs

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, equivalent Honeywell sales operations experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in an Estimation, Operations or Solutions role
  • Demonstrated experience managing/estimating multiple large bids
  • Ability to influence and engage and negotiate with an array of stakeholders internally and externally
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a highly matrixed organisation
