Job Description:
We have an excellent opportunity for a Multi Business Distribution Site Leader to take full warehouse & logistics responsibility for a newly developed site in Ellesmere Port. This is one of Honeywell’s largest Distribution Centre (DC) across Europe and has plans and capacity for further growth. Ellesmere Port manages the storage and distribution for multiple Honeywell business units, receiving and sending products across the globe making this a exciting role.
The recent expansion of the site has meant we need to increase the leadership capacity to ensure the future plans for the site are achieved. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in leading and improving large DC’s regarding health and safety, quality and productivity (inc. automation).
Job Responsibilities:
- Highest communication and escalation level within the site
- Resolve day to day operational challenges with the site leadership team to optimise performance and minimise impact on customers and the business
- Improve and develop organizational capabilities through effective succession planning, employee development, performance management and planning/utilization of staff and capital resources
- Own the tiered accountability and continuous improvement process for the site
- Lead warehouse capacity planning & storage modelling to ensure fully optimised operational processes are in place.
- Champion programs to improve employee wellbeing
- Forecast current and future state sites needs to exceed the businesses expectations
- Identify, justify and implement improvements regarding H&S, quality, logistics and productivity
- Own relationship with the unions associated with the site
- Overall responsibility for all operational aspects of the Ellesmere Port Site (including P&L)
- In conjunction with the Ellesmere Port Site Leadership and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Director define, deploy and deliver the sites strategic plans
- Own and deliver agreed AOP plans and targets
- Deliver new processes to expand the sites capabilities, service and offerings through process optimisation and automation
- Optimise logistic solutions to deliver a best cost and serve model
- Establish relationships with key stakeholders including Order Management, Sales, Procurement, Demand Planning, Corp Logistics, Marketing and Business Leadership.
Job Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of business and management principles (P&L ownership, budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources
- Outstanding leadership skills – ability to influence/mentor others, lead/inspire change and create strong partnership
- Strong knowledge of lean and problem-solving methodologies
- Experience managing 3rd party logistics suppliers as well as end clients/customers
- Able to develop networks and build relationships
- Proven track record with a in managing and improving large DC’s or manufacturing sites
- Experience with managing transition and or setting up new sites
- Ability to lead & drive change and influence/mentor others
- Ability to communicate a common message within all levels or the organisation
- Proven ability to react to problems and resolve them in a fast-paced environment
- Superior knowledge of lean, six sigma tools and problem-solving methodology
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop networks and build relationships
- Quick response and proactive attitude to get results
