Honeywell Recruitment – Sr Product Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description:

We have an opportunity for an Sr New Product Introductions Engineer to join our team at the Aerospace Yeovil site. The purpose of the role is work on New Product Development / New Product Introduction. The Senior NPI Engineer will be responsible for driving the ISC function through all development phases to meet planning, manufacturing, cost & process capability on these new product developments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement process routings
• Capital
• Ensure new products are deployed into manufacturing using repeatable process methods, ensuring all, tooling, test equipment, work instructions are implemented to enable on time delivery of products, while meeting producibility, quality and cost targets.
• Ensure projects complete the necessary stages of the company Integrated Product Delivery System (IPDS) process which includes the main deliverables listed below:
• Production Rate Readiness (PRR)
• Support design reviews (PDR / CDR / FDR),
• Tooling implementation
• Testing fixtures
• Phase gate exit review with ISC Engineering leadership
• Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments
• Use standard New Product Development operating system to record all artefacts used to move forward along gated process
• Unit Production Cost – Meet the cost target for serial production.

Job Requirements:

• Ability to manage high workload and prioritize accordingly
• Technical expert for products manufactured & processes within their cell(s)
• Ability to analyze a complex problem and deliver a simple solution
• Experience of manufacturing new product deployment is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• An understanding of lean manufacturing environment and change management
• An ability to coordinate multi skills team (Sourcing / Direct / Quality / Engineering..)
• Strong understanding of engineering processes for design and test to be able to challenge design to achieve producibility targets
• Financial acumen; demonstrated understanding of business metrics and how to impact results
• Proven experience within the general application of engineering. This could be within mechanical/manufacturing
• Previous experience of participating, and actioning continuous improvement projects
