Global Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning.
We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team as a Senior Operational Risk Audit Manager working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure that audits complete efficiently and effectively with due regards to the risks, scope, nature and materiality of each in scope entity.
- Prioritise work and the delegation of assignments in accordance with and due regards to the nature of the business and the risks being incurred.
- Support in the execution, robust documentation and reporting of risk based Continuous Monitoring on the designated audit universe areas.
- Ensure that the scope, approach and methodology of each operational risk audit is fully reflective of the importance of the Group’s focus on its customers and the quality of the operating environment necessary to support that focus.
- Ensure that operational risk audit reporting properly highlights all material risks.
- Conduct and lead with the execution of operational risk audits that are consistent with the nature and scope of the Group’s Non-Financial Risk Management Framework.
- Engage with and providing strategic advice to internal stakeholders by utilising knowledge of the business and the governance, risk and regulatory frameworks.
- Manage the interface between internal and external stakeholders to ensure a common approach to and understanding of key deliverables.
- Lead and execute audits in accordance with Global Internal Audit Standards.
- Clearly communicate issues and associated risks to colleagues, audit managers, and senior stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Experience of data analytics, second line of defence, IT audits, is an advantage.
- Knowledge of the broader spectrum of risk management which includes counterparty credit and market risk management, quantitative and analytic methods and techniques, risk data and infrastructure.
- Knowledge and experience of project management within a banking environment would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrable capability to work both on own initiative and whilst participating effectively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to understand complex issues, manage conflicting priorities, and provide pragmatic business oriented solutions.
- Expert knowledge and experience of operational risk management within a banking environment is a preference.
- University degree and relevant professional qualification with prior banking experience.
- Demonstrable analytical thinking, sound judgment, critical analysis, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel across the region and worldwide.
- Understanding of operational risk vectors from an audit approach perspective, including but not limited to regulatory compliance, financial crime compliance, security and fraud, information security, technology and infrastructure, operations, people, controls, and capital management.
- Strong written and verbal articulation skills to positively influence senior executives.
