Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our Jersey City, New Jersey office.
US Wholesale CDAO function was initially established in December 2020 as part of a HSBC wide program to improve the management of data across the Wholesale organization. As the function has continued to evolve, the team is looking to build out Data Analysis & Remediation capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

The core objective of this role is work as part of the Data Management team to drive and deliver high impact data quality outcome.

  • Lead the data analysis and remediation for high priority DQ analysis and remediation initiatives such as Credit and Lending Data Quality
    Identify DQ themes, define prioritization parameters, perform root cause analysis and identify IT systems involved in the DQ theme.
  • Manage project execution tasks and milestones through agreed delivery in tools such as Monday.com
  • Obtain data required for analysis through various channels such as Google Cloud Platform, APIs and flat files
  • Adhere to the data management policy across Data Storage, Data Movement, Data Usage and Data Privacy
  • Create and maintain appropriate documentation for the project and associated tasks in Confluence
  • Understand the data structures; relationships between various data elements; perform data wrangling; cleansing and data analysis using tools such as Alteryx or through programming languages such as SQL, Python and PySpark
  • Present the findings to various stakeholders in easy to understand terms
  • Create DQ rules that enable periodic and continuous monitoring & exception reporting.
  • Define and implement DQ remediation procedures across business users
  • There are known translation gaps in language between business/ operations teams and data teams. This role will need to intentionally put effort in understanding the business usage of the data.

Job Requirements:

  • Self-Starter, Problem Solving, excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience as a Data Analyst or a Data Quality Analyst with demonstrable experience and knowledge of data quality measurement, reporting and Issue management for large financial institutions
  • Alteryx, SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency
