Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our New York, New York, Buffalo, New York, Jersey City, New Jersey or Arlington Heights, Illinois office locations.

The Data Management Support Lead will work closely with Data Governance and Data Services teams to ensure Data Quality and Data Integrity standards are designed appropriately and are implementable. This role will also collaborate with Data Controls team to help monitor Data Quality and Data Integrity control gaps and support in documentation and tracking of remediation activities to address identified gaps in accordance with Standard of Care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative working environment across DAO and the leadership team
  • Work with DAO, GB/GFs, and other stakeholders to provide interpretation of data management policy/requirements where relevant to ensure
  • Data Quality and Data Integrity controls are implemented in accordance with the Standard of Care
  • Represent the DAO in matters related to Data Quality and Data Integrity controls as required
  • Create instruction manuals where applicable and guidance in implementing Data Management controls in accordance with the Standard of Care
  • Conduct training sessions as needed and implement and publish monthly reporting where required
  • The role holder will be responsible for ensuring they and the teams in the various functions adhere to HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of external audit points together with any issues raised by external auditors
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
  • Support in documentation and tracking of remedial measures for known Data Quality and Data Integrity gaps

Job Requirements:

  • A good knowledge of the Group (or a similarly situated large global organization) and its strategy, internal policies, and procedures is preferable
  • 5+ years of metadata management experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience with managing a technical team in an agile environment
  • Necessity to make robust/tough decisions that may be contrary to others’ wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Previous GB/GF systems knowledge to support stakeholder management
  • Strong leadership and management ability, developing and motivating employees over multiple sites
  • Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts
  • Proven ability to manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change-oriented
  • Strong knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools (e.g. Collibra)
