Job Responsibilities:

• Perform specific assignments independently. Receives guidance in novel situations.
• Collaborate with internal teams on projects
• Proficient at established procedures
• Interact with external departments (marketing, marketing services, purchasing, operations, quality assurance, formula control, raw material administration, creative, and education) when necessary
• Skilled individual contributor demonstrating collaboration, delivering sustained important contributions that impact new or improved products.
• Exhibit competence with computer systems available to R&D for formula management, requesting tests etc. (APEX, RDS and other required corporate programs)
• Provide technical information to marketing for collateral and proof-read copy
• Work with process lab to write and maintain manufacturing procedures for products and coordinate, supervise production of, approve, and test pilot batches and pre-production
• Work with QA to set specifications for new products and sign off on batches
• Formulate new shampoo/ conditioner/ style products proficiently from conceptualization to production – working with product development within TLM dates -providing stable, safe and effective products.
• Coordinate product testing by preparing samples for the various departments safety, microbiology, claims, packaging, salon testing, and consumer panel testing

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of cosmetic formulations and raw materials within the cosmetic/beauty industry
• Bachelor’s degree in sciences
• 5 years formulation
• Proficient in Office 365 applications, excellent communication skills- both written and verbal. Organizational skills to keep projects on track
