Job Description:

  • This Leader will bring a global view and drive communication strategy for the Janssen Supply Chain business. This is a rare opportunity for an inclusive and outstanding Communication Leader to join a dynamic, high-performing team playing a critical part in the positioning of Johnson & Johnson’s global vaccine development and supply chain activities. The right individual will possess excellent business acumen and people management skills. S/he will have a strong background in strategic communication, including executive positioning, external and internal communication, employee engagement, change management, and crisis and issues management.
  • This individual will have demonstrated leadership and a proven record of success advancing communication plans and managing teams in highly complex, matrixed organizations. In this role, s/he will drive meaningful collaboration with business partners, communication colleagues and other leaders across Johnson & Johnson, enabling customized solutions to advance the goals of Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC) and ensure a seamless execution of communication strategies and initiatives.
    The Communications Leader for Janssen Supply Chain is a critical member of three global leadership teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute high impact, global change management programs that drive understanding of and engagement in the Janssen Supply Chain business strategy.
  • Collaborate with Digital Innovation and Insights team to monitor, measure and improve effective communication utilizing a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Amplify the JJSC strategic narrative and helping to identify and source examples to expand the narrative in relation to Janssen Supply Chain activities.
  • Manage critical organizational communication for the Janssen Supply Chain business (e.g., town halls, leader calls, talking points, etc.) according to defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with communication colleagues in R&D and other areas of Johnson & Johnson to shape the communication strategy regarding the Planning, Sourcing, Making and Delivering of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine candidate solution for COVID-19.
  • Surface and manage executive positioning opportunities, media engagement, etc. in alignment with the broader strategy and business goals for JSC and JJSC.
  • Develop and execute initiatives to educate employees, commercial partners and other relevant external stakeholders about JSC and JJSC’s value as a growth driver and competitive advantage for Johnson & Johnson.
  • Develop global sector-level strategic communication plans/narratives to drive highest communication impact, ensuring linkage to pharmaceutical sector, JJSC and enterprise priorities.
  • Partner and collaborate as a member of the Janssen Supply Chain leadership team, Pharmaceutical Communication leadership team and Supply Chain Communication leadership team.
  • Collaborate across sectors/regions, Global Corporate Affairs (GCA), Employee Communication and Engagement, and Supply Chain Communication to ensure alignment of plans across regions, coordinated issues management activities, process, messaging development, etc.
  • Provide counsel and support to Supply Chain sector leaders in driving engagement, shaping the dialogue of Supply Chain and connecting communication to the strategic direction set by the Supply Chain Communications Leader
  • Manage budgets from multiple sources and resources, including external partners and agencies.
  • Collaborate with peers and partners to ensure activities and events are handled in line with sector and region strategies relevant to JSC.
  • Lead and motivate direct reports, vendor partners and resources to support the development and execution of Supply Chain communication strategies
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning, inclusion, quality and a commitment to patients and customers.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate communications or related field
  • 2+ years of people management experience required
  • Experience working in a global function
  • Experience working in a matrix environment
  • Key problem-solving skills in developing communication strategies and actions
  • Requires high degree of independent judgment and decision making
  • Experience in a Fortune 500 or consulting company.
