Job Description:
The Corporate Development Research Analyst will leverage strong technical skills to lead the merger, acquisition and investment related research and analysis needs of KPMG’s Corporate Development team and its stakeholders. Job Responsibilities:
- Perform M&A competitor analysis
- Create standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards to report on strategic priority areas and M&A opportunities
- Develop an understanding of KPMG’s inorganic growth strategy and priorities
- Analyze market trends and strategies to identify new acquisition and investment opportunities
- Develop pitch presentations on actionable M&A opportunities
- Prepare relevant research reports, notes, and briefs
- Manage multiple information requests from various stakeholders
- Additional tasks assigned as required to support the Corporate Development Office
- Search, collect, consolidate, and interpret company and industry data
- Perform market research, data mining, business intelligence, and valuation comps
Job Requirements:
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple and often competing priorities with tight deadlines
- Bilingual in English and French considered and asset
- Proficiency with multiple research databases including PitchBook, Capital IQ, Crunchbase
- Attention to detail and strong computer skills (Excel modeling, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work with bulky data sets and comb through large amount of information originated from research databases to arrive at relevant and concise results Advanced excel skills with ability to work with pivot tables, nested iffs, vlookup, etc. to filter through and compare multiple datasetsInterest and expertise in business intelligence and data analytics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills, and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail with an aptitude for proofreading
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or Relevant work experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or corporate development
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Computer Science
