As a Sr Software Engineer in the Group Benefits Solutions Delivery organization in Cary NC, you will lead & mentor in software development activities on one or more projects of moderate to high complexity. In this role you will be responsible for the successful completion of technical deliverables (including detailed technical design), software development, unit testing process and interacting with On-shore and Off-Shore teams & customers when needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Become a subject matter expert to have a deep understand on the MGI Platform Application and Infrastructure framework and integration implementation and assist programs.
- Work closely with Project Manager, architects, developers, Test team, business users/BAs and applicable outside entities (vendors and others)
- Contribute to development of user guides, reference manuals, training materials and code release artifacts as appropriate
- Works with Project Manager to ensure compliance to MetLife System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Provides estimates for Software work efforts on new projects and for on-going forecasting
- Lead development of Technical requirements definition and design documentation for MGI (MetLife Group Insurance) Platform in the scope of full stack development, facilitates testing and training. MGI provides a full range of group insurance sales & servicing capabilities.
- Lead & mentor Application development activities on the MGI platform in the realm of migrating legacy business into the MGI platform and function as a full stack developer on the MGI Platform.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in unit testing tools like Junit and SPOCK framework.
- Skills with Data Models for both relational DB, and NoSQL DB like MongoDB.
- Web development background using HTML5, Java, J2EE, Spring, REST API, and automation tools like Maven or Gradle and Gulp.
- Design Patterns and Restful services architecture design.
- Familiarity with any of the leading cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering or related field, or equivalent.
- 5+ years Software Development experience
- 2+ years of experience with a scripting language such as PowerShell.
- Strong hands-on experience building enterprise-scale applications using cutting-end client-side and server-side technologies such as Java, Groovy, Spring boot, React JS, Angular 2, microservices, container technologies and NodeJS.
