NatWest Recruitment – Data Governance Lead

Job Description:

As a Data Governance Lead, you’ll develop, embed, and refine the new data governance framework and working practices for the business. You’ll be making sure guidance material is readily available, meets requirements and is sufficient to enable leadership teams and their colleagues to identify and escalate data issues. With your expertise, you’ll also be seen as the first point of contact for senior leadership on data governance and policy.

Job Responsibilities:

• Identify, understand and challenge business areas regarding their data management issues to make sure both the problem and proposed solution have been correctly identified
• Provide regular, up to date, accurate reports to Data OpCo, showing the compliance status of the business
• Make sure that data related risks are identified, and appropriate solutions are managed efficiently, economically and effectively
• Engage and build awareness of data management principles, framework and impacts and build a programme to educate and upskill the leadership teams about data
• Make sure all action remains within the boundaries of data protection, data policy and related regulation

Job Requirements:

• Good complex decision-making abilities, using a broad range of factors to develop solutions
• Experience of building support and engagement for solutions by sharing information and taking an active role in cross-functional activities
• The ability to leverage best practice and apply appropriately to our data governance framework
• The ability to convey complex subjects in a simple and accessible way to senior and generalist audiences
• Experience in developing improvement initiatives to meet long term goals
