Job Description: The ideal Strategy Director leads the development of strategic projects across the Business Strategy team’s key focus areas: functional support (e.g., merchandise, marketing, supply chain), business unit support (e.g., Nordstrom, Nordstrom.com, NordstromRack.com), and internal growth initiatives (e.g., acquisition, geographic expansion). Job Responsibilities: Negotiate and mediate with senior leaders across multiple functions in the development and execution of strategy Bring structure and thought leadership to highly ambiguous problems; manage team in synthesizing insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations Work with senior leaders to deliver and create focus around key strategic priorities based on a keen understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics and customer needs in an evolving marketplace Manage the day-to-day work of your team and reinforce a performance-focused team environment that ensures everyone is contributing according to their strengths while also developing new skills and growing in their careers Write and communicate complex business issues in a simple, impactful way, generating compelling written documents for executive level audiences and working teams Develop rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations.
