We’re looking for a GRC systems engineer with a tech first mindset that can help take Nordstrom to unforeseen heights! This position will drive change in the organization, enable data processing, and create new insights empowering Nordstrom for decades to come. Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in 5×12 on-call rotation.
  • Ability to interact and translate technical language to non-technical stakeholders
  • Conceptualize, design and document solutions to problems with the customers while owning the design & architecture elements
  • Represent the GRC team to our internal customer base. Nordstrom is customer service driven and the GRC team takes this principle seriously.
  • Help drive a common technology model to ensure cross enterprise functionality
  • Champion our legal solutions and engineering efforts around operations and onboarding additional process
  • Demonstrate a passion and commitment towards learning public and hybrid cloud technologies at enterprise scale.
  • Meet with internal customers to understand requirements and build upon those requirements
  • Continuous learning and seeking to understand
  • Mentor fellow team members and other engineers throughout the organization

Job Requirements:

  • Windows, SQL, VMware or other virtualization/database platform, Chef or similar technology, DNS, and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • An ability to integrate systems through an API or other integrations
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services or other cloud provider is desired but not required.
  • Must possess experience with building partnerships across multiple business units and executing effectively
  • Understanding of software development methodologies and practices, including agile development, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Ability to break down and understand the problem, listening to customers ideas and if it’s in the best interest telling a customer no.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and completing priorities while staying on time for deliverables is a must.
  • Must possess strong consulting, documentation and presentation skills
  • Having a growth mindset, and an ability to bounce back is a key to this position and team!

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience standing up and selecting a new system while supporting post launch
  • Experience with Insurance Management System
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn and adapt as the business need changes and new platforms are stood up, becoming the SME for these systems and engagements
  • 2+ years being the lead engineer on an internal system leading a team of engineers and directly supporting customers
  • 4+ years working on internal systems building new process, applications and engaging with stakeholders for enhancements & bug fixes
  • Experience with Legal Matters Solutions
  • Experience with a RIMS (Risk Information Management System)
  • Experience with Security and Compliance in the enterprise. This includes an understanding of at least one of the following disciplines and exposure to all of them: Security Infrastructure, Security Assessments, and PCI Compliance, SOX at the enterprise level.
