Job Description:

Reporting to the Retail Finance Manager this role will business partner the Operations Manager for Northern Ireland and ROI. The role will also take responsibility for the Store Support Program, Controllable Costs, Store Incentive Schemes and Trials. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, requiring excellent organisation and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the Store Support program working with the wider team to ensure that we maintain focus, understand the priorities and targeted improvements are delivered
  • Play a part in the continuous improvement of both the Retail Finance, and overall Screwfix Finance function. Drive towards simplification and automation of routine activity always challenging the status quo
  • Responsibility for Store Incentive Programmes, establishing and maintaining the measurements ensuring they are applied fairly and consistently, along with providing the required reporting
  • Ownership of Trials across Retail, delivering clear ROI modelling to aid decision making, ensuring we provide accurate and timely reporting throughout the trials, drawing conclusions and giving clear and concise feedback supported by data as to their success
  • Own ad-hoc financial analysis to drive insights and support decision making using both finance and non-finance data
  • Own Controllable Costs across Retail, delivering robust and accurate budgets and forecasts, ensuring accuracy in reporting along with highlighting and effectively communicating any risks to delivering the plan
  • Partner the Operations Manager for Northern Ireland and ROI and their direct reports to create, manage and deliver accurate and aligned budgets and forecasts. Ensure transparency and understanding of Retail plans that deliver on the overall business objectives

Job Requirements:

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders
  • An attention to detail ensuring right first time accuracy, maintaining the reputation and integrity of the function
  • A recognised financial qualification would be an advantage
  • Must have curiosity; can demonstrate a desire and skill to understand and communicate to others how things work and link together
  • Experience in a retail or consumer-facing business is desirable
  • Effective communication skills. A proven ability to relate performance in a meaningful way to non-finance colleagues
