Six Flags Employment – Compliance Manager

Job Description:

This position is responsible for overseeing legal compliance to federal and state regulations for payroll and employment. You will serve as a resource to all managers and directors at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor to remain compliant while meeting Park operational needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State employment laws/regulations regarding employment
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws and Company policies, including conducting audits and developing procedures and strategies to address areas in need of improvement
  • Oversee all wage and hour compliance
  • Act as Park duty manager as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned
  • In-house labor tracking system expert and owner to ensure overall CA compliance
  • Monitor paycheck production to adhere to all CA laws
  • Ensure departmental schedules completed on a timely basis and they optimize use of available staff
  • Act as central contact point to manage requests for additional hours and monitor park’s effective use of its budgeted hours

Job Requirements:

  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work productively across various departments
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and parse complicated data sets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products with an emphasis in Access and Excel; some VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) experience preferred
  • Flexible schedule required including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • 5+ years supervisory or managerial experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business Management or a related field preferred
  • Experience executing labor, employment, payroll and wage and Hour laws
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
