Job Description:

The Analyst will be a highly visible and trusted business partner that is focused on providing sales and margin planning as well as customer level analytical support and insights to both Merchant & Sales leaders of our portfolio of products stretching across Business Essentials, Facilities, Furniture, Tech and Print. The Analyst will be challenged to create timely and accurate forward-looking plans and then ensure businesses are performing in line with expected targets, proactively suggesting remedies or alternative strategies should they be needed.
In order to be successful in this role, the Analyst will need to be a dynamic self-starter with the ability to establish strong working relationships across a multitude of synergistic partners they help support that results in open, influential, active lines of communication. In addition, it is expected that this person will be a primary contact with the selected business line(s) they support and should be able to effectively communicate business trends and results at that level.

Job Responsibilities:

• Own daily sales and margin reporting
• Formulate accurate sales and margin forecasts (monthly, weekly, daily), collaborating with Merchant teams and Business Unit leaders
• Communicate results and concepts efficiently and effectively to a senior level audience
• Provide general and ad hoc analytic support to the merchant partners and BU leadership
• Quickly adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining focus on multiple business responsibilities
• Identify key business trends and provide supportive analytics that drive and influence business performance / decisions
• Be adept at manipulating and synthesizing large data sets that provide insightful analysis in support of business decisions
• Create business unit performance summaries for inclusion in month end reporting / business reviews
• Develop annual sales and margin budget plans, support long-range business modeling
• Think analytically, focus on the big picture, and be able to drill into the detail and disseminate key insights
• Serve as a Finance thought leader – build financial models that can predict outcomes reliably and accurately

Job Requirements:

• Ability to present ideas
• MBA or master’s degree in a related field, but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, data analysis or related field
• 2-3 years or more of progressive finance / related experience
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
• Strong interpersonal skills
