Job Description:
Join a Pricing BI Team focused on analytics geared at helping serve the greater pricing and sales organizations. In this role an individual will work alongside members of an experienced, high performing, and highly motivated team. The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst role will involve solving complex business problems, providing data driven insights for those problems, and making recommendations that directly impact the business. The individual will use a broad range of skills to build analytic and reporting capabilities that enable our business partners to make better data-driven decisions. You will be involved in the development life cycle from gathering requirements, to developing quality interactive data visualizations. Also, creating and maintaining solutions (interactive analytic reports/dashboards) using industry leading visualization tools. You will be conducting exploratory analysis; designing and developing data extracts from source data using ETL tools such as Alteryx to identify new product insights and improve business expertise to answer complex business questions
Job Responsibilities:
- Enhance the efficiency, automation, and accuracy of existing reports
- Act as a business partner, with the end user in mind, that will assist both Pricing and external departments in driving business decisions
- Effectively communicate information to technical and non-technical audiences
- Become a contributor to the Business Intelligence community at Staples
- Research and troubleshoot data questions and misinterpretations
- Support ad-hoc analytical projects based on Staples strategic priorities
- Help identify gaps in data collection strategy that will enable further insights-driven capabilities
Job Requirements:
- Ability to summarize technical details to non-technical audience
- Works well in a dynamic environment – adaptability
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task is a must
- Comfortable working with a multi-functional team, both locally and remote, understanding the perspectives of each partner
- Experience with data wrangling tools; Alteryx highly desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree (concentration in analytical-and/or financial-based areas such as business, accounting, or economics)
- 3+ years of experience in an analytics or finance related field
- Proficient in enterprise-class business intelligence visualization tools; Tableau highly desirable
- Proactive and passionate about data integrity
- Be a team player and self-starter with great interpersonal skills and a solution-oriented attitude
