Job Description: Supervises and directs the day to day activities of one or more of the following departments at a hazardous waste facility: stabilization, landfill, wheel wash facility, bulk sampling, drum process, macro-encapsulation, tank farm, and/or waste water treatment by performing the following duties and supervising frontline personnel: Job Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. Monitors progress and completion of capital projects in areas of responsibility. Develops personnel and equipment requirements for new or improved operating processes. Reviews and evaluates work to ensure quality, timeliness and ensures quality control in adherence to policies and procedures. Oversees and conducts personnel needs of the department including coaching, safety training, disciplinary action, and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. Puts in place and monitors programs to ensure proper waste sampling, treating and disposal, and ensuring safe and efficient throughput. Monitors and takes corrective action when necessary for proper management of leachate collection, storage, and disposal. Reference site-specific procedures and more detailed site-specific job descriptions. Supervises staff and organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities. Ensures personnel are properly trained on health and safety matters, as well as proper procedures for waste treatment, tracking and disposal. Monitors for compliance with Corporate and Facility safety and compliance regulations and takes corrective action when needed. Performing other duties as assigned. Ensures that EPA, State agencies, RCRA, TSCA, and DOT Regulations are followed. Maintains cost controls by taking appropriate corrective action when costs are not within acceptable limits. Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor’s degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma (accredited) or GED, and four (4) years of relevant experience. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of related experiences and/or training (in addition to education requirements).
