Job Description:

We are looking for exceptional individuals used to working to Key Performance Indicators and driving sales. This individual will manage the day to day operation of the store, maximising profit through effective management of the team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure excellent merchandising standards are delivered at all times
  • Deliver a legal, safe and secure workplace
  • Recruit, motivate & train the team to deliver individual and store targets, including average transaction value and add on sales
  • Creating a customer service led culture that exceeds expectations
  • Play an active role on the shop floor with the team
  • Drive the team to achieve both individual and store targets including sales, shrink and staff costs
  • Performance management of staff – appraisals, lateness, absence, service standards
  • Ensuring all the team are motivated to deliver a professional level of service to all customers
  • Work with management to maximise opportunities to drive sales and increase footfall
  • Working with management to develop a harmonious relationship with our landlord, ensuring all expected KPI’s and standards are met

Job Requirements:

  • An interest in Books is important.
  • Previous experience of leading and motivating a team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience of working in a customer focused retail environment
  • Flexibility towards working hours
  • Proven experience of working to and achieving challenging Key Performance Indicators
