Job Description:

The Operations Consultant role increases the overall performance of Zaxby’s restaurants by executing objectives outlined by the Director of Field Operations & Operations Development Manager in accordance with the ZFL Strategic Plan. Visits all stores within a designated region as frequently as possible. Guides, supports, and develops the Licensees within the designated region by working with 1-2 target stores, conducting at least 1 operations review, and overseeing 1-2 Field Support Specialist development visits each quarter. Responsible to assist in maximizing assigned restaurant performance while operating in accordance to the Brand expectations and their license agreement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Learns the difference in understanding their issue vs. being involved in the issue
  • Being humble in the beginning and making sure that you fully understand a topic before offering suggestions
  • Learns how to develop action plans and presents to Licensee and management
  • Develops an organization strategy to maintain all documentation
  • Utilizes peers and leadership to talk/walk through different situations for suggestions on how to partner with Franchisees
  • Schedules time for consultations, administrative duties, and meetings
  • Listens to peers and leadership talk about progress of the Licensees
  • Understands and attends to behavioral cues and body language to know how it affects outcomes
  • Works as a team player with Licensees, Field Support Specialists, and Operations Development Manager with little to no conflicts
  • Uses feedback from leadership to develop systems and understands what to document and how to store the information
  • Learns how to compare key metrics to present to the Licensee and management
  • Visits locations within region to gain a better understanding of how they operate
  • Works with guidance from Operations Development Manager on feedback from the field and peers
  • Spends time in the region getting to know their infrastructure and how they execute systems
  • Seeks guidance from peers and leaders when faced with situations that haven’t been previously experienced and then organizes the results to streamline the process moving forward
  • Meets with Licensees and managers to learn what motivates them and tries different approaches for consulting within region
  • Actively learns other sub-departments in Operations and how your role can help them
  • Builds relationships and develops trust by being in their locations and following through on commitments
  • Develops strong working relationships with other departments
  • Plans visits/meetings and learn how to adjust as issues arise
  • Understands how the Consultant and Field Support Specialist roles work together to maximize outcomes and understands what areas to focus on to develop their Field Support Specialist

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to facilitate to management and team members a complete understanding of operational procedures
  • Operate a computer work station and MS Office programs
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must attain and maintain ServSafe certification
  • Must maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal workplace health and safety regulations
  • Maintains a servant attitude. Operates as a business advisor. Must be willing to help Licensees grow through discussing weaknesses, threats, and opportunities within their organization.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. BS Degree in Business/ Management preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related managerial experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
